Smart showerhead conserves water

The OaSense is a water-saving showerhead with sensors that detect when the user is not under it anymore, pausing the flow of water. The shower turns on again automatically when the user steps back in. It is also capable of adjusting water temperature.

The smart showerhead boasts a high-water pressure and is said to fit easily with showerhead fittings. The innovative product runs on four AA batteries that can last more than a year.

OaSense’s creator, Evan Schneider, got the idea for this smart showerhead while taking a shower, realizing that his home state of California is experiencing drought and water-saving is important for residents.

As of the time of this writing, OaSense has gained about $20,500 of its $75,000 funding goal in Kickstarter with more than 10 days to go. It will be shipped starting May and the retail price is expected to be about $135.
