Italy startup Clairy has recently launched a flower pot that can purify air inside a room and send real-time air quality updates to a smartphone.
The Clairy smart flower pot consists of an inner part that holds the plant and soil, and a housing that integrates a fan. The noiseless fan is responsible for channeling air toward the plant’s roots for purification. The plant pot is said to filter up to 80 percent of a “heavy polluted” 386ft3 room within 30 hours.
The air-purifying plant pot also integrates sensors that determine the plant’s condition, quality of air, temperature and humidity, and sends these data to Android and iOS devices via Wi-Fi and an app. Plant pots can now jump in to the smart home, for this product can also sync with certain smart home devices.
Clairy is on its way to completing its $100,000 funding goal on Kickstarter, already surpassing 50 percent of the target amount with less than 20 days to go.
