A pair of Seoul-based garments and fabrics manufacturers have started the establishment of plants that are expected to attract investment and generate jobs in Vietnam.

Two South Korea textile companies have started construction of their factories in Vietnam's Tam Thang Industrial Zone in the city of Tam Ky, Quang Nam province last July 30.
Seoul-based apparel and fabrics manufacturer Panko Group invested $70 million for a plant that will cover more than 30 hectares. Once operational, it expected to create about 15,000 jobs.
The factory will produce a range clothes, textile products, dyes and fabric materials. The plant is predicted to churn out 24,000 tonnes of textile products, 24,000 tonnes of dyes, 75,000 tonnes of apparel and 30 million tonnes of textile materials every year.
Meanwhile, Ducksan Enterprises, also based in South Korea, began the establishment of a $10 million fabric plant that will occupy a total area of 6.6 hectares. Annual capacity is pegged at 19,200 tonnes of fiber, clothes, textiles and dyes.
Do Xuan Dien, management board head at the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, expressed optimism that the two projects will help attract domestic and foreign investment in the Tam Thang Industrial Zone in the future.
