It's not all tinsel, stars and Santa Claus this year.

Odd as it may sound, Christmas this year will be spring-inspired.
"Christmas in spring" emerged as a key trend at the 2015 edition of Christmasworld, held earlier in Frankfurt as product selections highlighted designs signifying nature and rebirth. Trees and baubles featured delicate white blossoms while bunnies, typically associated with Easter, function as tabletop decor.
Here are five other hot themes for Christmas 2015:
1. House shape: Reminiscent of quaint snow-covered roofs on vintage greeting cards, house-shaped decorations are expected to be visible this holiday season. Candles will be nestled in house-shaped hanging holders, while similarly formed accents will line mantelpieces.
2. Metallic colors: Yellow gold remains a favorite, with gold glitter on greeting cards and shiny round baubles dangling from trees. Copper, a key color trend in Christmasworld 2014, is repackaged in a subtler hue this year.
3. Nativity made modern: Christmas is not complete without the créche, and modernized renditions such as Russian matryoshka-style sets are gaining in popularity. A tea light holder displayed at the show reveal a silhouette of the nativity scene when lit.
4. Go stag: A Christmas favorite over the past several years, the stag will again be displayed prominently in 2015. Decorations will highlight specifically the antlers for a mountain lodge feel.
5. Flat trees: This year, Christmas trees are flattened and hung from the ceiling, attached to walls or stood or flat surfaces to maximize space.
