Smart tape measures are currently on the rise with technologies that improve measurement and data display and transfer, and changes in form. Bluetooth is a feature in those smart tapes that can become more common in upcoming models. Add to the list of the few Bluetooth-enabled releases the eTape16 model, an intelligent digital measuring tape that can deliver data to an app compatible with iOS and Android devices.

The eTape16 tape measure takes inside and outside dimensions and displays data on its LCD. It allows switching or conversion between units of measurement, and also supports decimal figures and fractions. The model’s memory can save up to two measurements and these can be overwritten with new figures. Users can erase the measurements via the Hold button.

As regards form, the product still uses a physical tape unlike other recently launched smart models. Some new measuring tapes, Bagel for example, do away with the tape. The eTape16 though, despite having the tape, can still be convenient enough for it integrates a blade lock that keeps the tape in place inside when not in use. Power source is a CR2032 battery that can last up to 64 hours.

Because various manufacturers are already offering different types of digital measuring tapes that also have LCDs and convenient button controls, connectivity will be a factor that can make models like eTape16 stand out.
