Smart showerheads that can tell water temperature by apps or lights are already mainstream but these are poised to get smarter this year. An upcoming release from kitchen and bathroom fixture maker Moen, the U by Moen shower system, which allows users to warm water according to their desired temperature is one example of how these bathroom fixtures will become more advanced.
The controls are easy, being packed in a smartphone app. This means owners can choose from 60 to 120 degrees of water temperature even before they enter the bathroom. Shower-to-app connection is via Wi-Fi. Aside from this, the system also comes with a programmable digital panel that shows temperature set and the time of day. The controller links up multiple outlets.
The product was showcased at the Consumer Electronics Show this 2017, and will be marketed by March. This and many other innovations that contribute to the growing pool of intelligent bathroom fixture options could enjoy high demand, for the smart bathroom market is expected to post a 10.43 percent CAGR by 2020.
