Top 20 garments & fashion accessories (August 2014): Daypacks hike up

Registering more than two-fold increase in monthly RFIs and almost 600 percent rise YoY, daypacks climbed to 6th spot in GlobalSources.com's top 20 garments and accessories for August 2014. This is the category's highest seeding in six months, which it also held in February. Daypacks placed 14th in last month's rankings.

Interest in the line is spurred by China makers enhancement efforts, centered mostly on user comfort and convenience. Many of the latest releases come with thick but lightweight cushioning on the backs and shoulder straps. The latter are adjustable while backs often have mesh ventilation. Most models suit different adventure sports.

Fashion jewelry chains, meanwhile, grabbed second place with a 23 and 79 percent ascent in monthly and annual buyer inquiries. This marks the category's best performance since finishing on top of the list in November 2013.
