Top 20 garments & fashion accessories (February 2014): Shades looking cool

Two returnees and two first-time entrants stood out in GlobalSources.com's top 20 garments and fashion accessories in February 2014.

Unisex sunglasses rallied back to the list, securing sixth spot with an almost 170 percent rise in buyer inquiries from January 2014, the same month it dropped out of the list. Prior to its February 2014 showing, the highest that unisex sunglasses placed was seventh in September 2013. YoY requests for information, meanwhile, jumped more than 260 percent. Many of the latest designs boast UV-protective and scratch-resistant lenses.

Also making a comeback is umbrellas. The line registered 148 and 92 percent more buyer inquiries from January 2014 and February 2013, respectively, edging newcomer PU belts for 15th place.

PU belts gained a little under 110 percent on-month. YoY growth more than doubled this figure.

Closing out the list, women's wallets is strongest in terms of RFI growth. The first-timer posted the highest ascent in monthly inquiries at 480 percent as trendy genuine leather pieces spur buyer interest.
