February 2014 saw disposable cups overtaking perennial favorite bedding sets to nab the number 1 spot on GlobalSources.com's top 20 home products.

Requests for disposable cups information in February rose 42 percent on-month and 193 percent YoY, beating out January growth figures of 30 percent and 118 percent. Products can be printed with custom designs, logos and brands, making them popular not only in the disposable tableware market but as promotional products as well. Recent releases are made of food-grade materials and follow various international standards, including QS and FDA.

Disposable cups last held the top position in August 2013.

Gas stoves, meanwhile, fared best among the six new entries in the top 20 in terms of placement. The category secured sixth place thanks to a 347 percent increase in monthly inquiries.

Cake molds, another first-timer, posted the biggest on-month growth in the entire top 20, with RFIs soaring more than 630 percent in February.
