Top 20 home products (March 2014): Bedding sets reclaims top spot

Buyer favorite bedding sets rallied back to number one on GlobalSources.com's top 20 home products in March 2014, overtaking erstwhile front-runner disposable cups. The category placed second in February..

Bedding sets secured March's top spot with a more than 120 percent increase in buyer inquiries from the previous month. YoY requests for information rose 110 percent. The ascent is thanks partly to strong demand for home and hotel-use models. Cotton releases continue to dominate selections because of their softness, moisture absorbency and breathability. These can be blended with other fabrics to improve functional properties. "Green" textiles are also popular in the high end.

March buyer inquiries for disposable cups, meanwhile, dropped 25 percent. In contrast, February figures posted 42 percent gain.

This month's list also features six newcomers.

Air purifiers led all first-time entrants with an monthly RFI growth of 125 percent. Glass candle holders, however, received the highest ranking at 12th place. The category registered an 86 percent rise on monthly inquiries.
