An organization of brick distributors and manufacturers based in the US, the Brick Industry Association, has recently laid out the top trends in bricks that are expected to prevail this year. Here are the brick styles member companies have observed to become popular:

1. Light colored bricks – White, gray and ivory are said to be the in-demand hues in fire clay bricks. These are often used to balance out darker shades in the home.

2. Rustic bricks – Rough textures give walls a more natural look. Included are weathered and white-washed finishes. Even brick tiles are adopting this style that has been on-trend since the past year.

3. Thin, long bricks – Buyers are now looking for what is not traditional. Like floor or wall tiles that now come in planks, bricks are becoming lighter and bigger in length.

Demand for construction materials in the US, particularly for bricks, blocks and pavers, is estimated to be worth $9.3 billion in 2018. According to ReportLinker, new housing starts will make clay bricks the fastest-growing product segment. Knowing what’s trending in the line could boost sales further.
