Baidu Eye: China's Google Glass?

Baidu has launched its personal intelligent knowledge assistant seen to rival Google Glass.

In September, Baidu Online Network Technology (Beijing) Co. Ltd has unveiled its latest wearable product that could potentially rival Google Glass—the Baidu Eye. Announced at this year's Baidu Technology Innovation Conference, the Baidu Eye is a personal intelligent knowledge assistant that links with Baidu search service. It can provide information, knowledge, answers, hints and resolutions to users according to voice input, gesture, head movement and visual input.

Unlike the Google Glass, the Baidu Eye only provides sounds to users, which is expected to extend the device's battery life. On the left arm is an earphone, which provides voice output. There is a camera on the right side that collects information according to users' focus. This function allows users to “understand what you are looking at,” says Baidu.

Established in 2000, Baidu is a web services company based in Beijing, China.
