Build, print, play. This is the BoardCraft team's mantra when it created BoardCraft, a system that allows players to design their own board game, and 2D and 3D components, then print these on a 3D, inkjet or laser printer.

The BoardCraft Kickstarter campaign, launched about a week-and-a-half ago, highlights Necrovirus, the company's first expandable game. The zombie-themed tabletop game can be customized in terms of map layout and scale, play style, rules, cards and game pieces. The set uses expandable base game boards linked together using 2D or 3D game pieces. Necrovirus has already attracted more than 100 backers and raised nearly $16,500 with still 23 days to go in the crowdfunding campaign.

A basic Necrovirus kit, including files for the 2D version, will start at $25. The full-color ready-to-use 3D printed set will be $2,500. Players looking to 3D print their own set can opt for the $50 version, which includes the 2D and 3D digital files.
