British technology company Dyson, known for its innovative bladeless fans and bag-free vacuum cleaners, has now unveiled its first ever hair dryer.

At first glance, the Supersonic hair dryer looks like a handheld version of Dyson's bladeless fan with its round and hollow head, and thin and sleek body. Unlike regular hair dryers, the V9 motor of the unit is installed inside the handle, contributing to the product's light 1.82-lb. weight and easy maneuverability.

Designed personally by James Dyson, the Supersonic hair dryer features the air multiplier technology, which produces an amplified and high-velocity jet of airflow that helps to dry hair evenly and quicker. It is also equipped with a thermistor, which regulates air temperature every 20 seconds to ensure the heat does not exceed 150 C, which is damaging to the hair.

The revamped hair dryer is built with a new V9 motor that features a spin speed of 15,000rpm. It has 13 impeller blades that help reduce the overall noise emitted.

The Supersonic hair dryer comes with magnetic attachments for styling hair and dispersing air. It has three speed and four heat settings. The unit will be sold in markets in the fall and will retail for $400.
