The QH [Quadruple H], an exercise hoop-cum-air purifier, is among the finalists for the 2015 Electrolux Design Lab. The product was designed by Jeongbin Seo, an industrial design major from South Korea, who drew inspiration his childhood Hula hoop and how the toy offered both health and happiness.
To incorporate the air-purifying function, Seo combined two hoops where air, which enters a slot on the top side, is cleaned of pollutants then released via the inlet at the bottom. The hoop also features a hologram projector, letting users place whatever images they want.
Electrolux Design innovation manager has suggested additional features, including an app that lets parents view how many times a child used the exercise hoop in a day in order to encourage more activity.
