Models come with GPS or ADAS features, or have Wi-Fi or mobile app controls and many automatic functions.

Makers of car DVRs in China have released smarter HD and wide-angle units that have enhanced GPS and driver-assisting capabilities or are more "connected" and automatic.

Through GPS, many car DVRs can determine vehicle location. In units with ADAS features, it can help tell drivers directions to a specific place. Date, time and location information can be added on images and videos.

With Wi-Fi and mobile app compatibility, some models sync with users' mobile phones and can be controlled remotely or upload data to the cloud automatically and prepare these for download.

Other units equip G-sensors for automatic emergency recording and protect the files from being deleted or overwritten.

The products in this gallery represent current trends in car DVRs.
