Manufacturers of aluminum electrolytic capacitors in the Chinese mainland are pushing production and R&D efforts in response to rising demand for chip and solid types. They are continuing with miniaturization and foresee an increase of shipments in the coming years. Available SMD units are in 3, 4, 5, 6.3, 8, 10, 12.5mm and bigger sizes.
Solid capacitors, which use a polymer instead of liquid dielectric material, are expected to become more popular in the years ahead. These have high reliability owing to low-ESR and high-rated ripple current performance, and a long operating life. However, only a few Chinese suppliers, such as Zhangjiagang Epectrum, currently offer them.
Typical selections usually consist of lead, chip, snap-in and screw-terminal kinds for various applications. The range of specifications includes 6.3 to 500V rated voltage, less than 0.5mA leakage current, -40 to 85 C or -40 to 105 C operating temperature and 1,000 to 8,000-hour life span. Products are RoHS-compliant and have CQC, cUL, UL and VDE certifications.
Manufacturers obtain materials from domestic sources, switching to foreign companies as required. The closure of small aluminum foil factories in the past two years due to environmental concerns resulted in fluctuating costs for the material. Despite this, suppliers kept product prices stable and have no plans to increase them in 2021.
330µF nominal capacitance, 6.3V rated voltage
The CDRVT331M0JD6H7 aluminum electrolytic capacitor from Dongguan Xuansn Electronic Tech Co. Ltd has 330µF nominal capacitance, 20 percent tolerance, 6.3V rated voltage, 280mA rms ripple current and 0.36ohm impedance. Operating temperature is -55 to 105 C. The 6.3x7.7mm model lasts 2,000 to 3,000 hours.
An order of at least 5,000 units is required. Delivery lead time is three days.
33µFnominal capacitance, 160V rated voltage
Dongguan Xuansn Electronic Tech Co. Ltd offers the CDXL33M2CD10H20 aluminum electrolytic capacitor with 33µF nominal capacitance, 160V rated voltage, 657mA rms ripple current, 8,000-hour life span and -40 to 105 C operating temperature. Dimensions are 10x20mm.
The minimum order is 5,000 units for delivery within three days.
100µF nominal capacitance, 25V rated voltage
This aluminum electrolytic capacitor from Dongguan Xuansn Electronic Tech Co. Ltd, the CD288H101M1ED6H11, has 100µF nominal capacitance, 25V rated voltage and 326mA rms ripple current. It can last 5,000 hours. Operating temperature is -40 to 105 C.
The supplier requires an order of 1,000 units for this model. Delivery is within three days.
15,000µF capacitance
Supertech Electronic Co. Ltd's ECAP-SNF153M1K4072B4 aluminum electrolytic capacitor offers 15,000µF capacitance, and has 80V rating and <3286µA leakage current after five minutes. It can withstand 100V surge voltage. Maximum impedance is 27mohms at 120Hz and 20 C. Operating temperatue is -40 to 85 C.
The minimum order quantity is 120 units. Delivery lead time is 56 days.
470µF capacitance, 25V rated voltage
The ECAP-RDH471M1E0814B from Supertech Electronic Co. Ltd is an aluminum electrolytic capacitor with capacitance of 470µF, rated voltage of 25V and DC leakage current of 117µA after five minutes at rated voltage. Operating temperature is -40 to 105 C. Load life is 2,000 hours at operating voltage and 105 C.
An order of at least 3,000 units is required. This has a 21-day delivery lead time.
10,000µF nominal capacitance, 40V rated voltage
From Supertech Electronic Co. Ltd, this ECAP-SN103M1G2541B aluminum electrolytic capacitor is designed with 10,000µF nominal capacitance, 40V rated voltage and 1,897µA DC leakage current. Operating temperature is -40 to 85 C.
The 1,000-unit minimum order requirement has a delivery lead time of 21 days.
