Makers of heat-shrink tubes in China highlight customization capability to meet diverse application requirements.

For use in wires, cables, passive components and batteries, heat-shrink tubes offer enhanced flexibility and insulation, and flame retardancy. In China, makers can supply them in any specification.

The standard selection consists of single- and dual-wall versions. The former is based on materials such as PVC, PET and PTFE, while the second has polyolefin alloy outer and EVA inner layers for added abrasion and corrosion resistance. Typical choices are 2:1, 3:1 and 4:1 shrink ratios. The usual color options are black, red, yellow, green, blue, white, purple and gray.

Based on the highest temperature supported, PVC heat-shrink tubes have 85 and 105 C variants and come in diameters of 2 to 200mm. These meet RoHS guidelines. PET counterparts are nontoxic and easier to recycle, and offer better electrical insulation, mechanical performance and resistance against heat. Besides RoHS, the latter type conforms to SS-00259 standards.

Manufacturers said releases that can withstand 125, 150, 175, 200 and 260 C are popular in electronics, automotive, mechanical, medical and military applications.

Materials are sourced from local or foreign sources, depending on buyers' requirement. Input cost has remained flat, so prices have not changed much. This trend is expected to last in the months ahead.

The products in this gallery have been handpicked by our China-based market analyst for representing current trends in heat-shrink tubes from China makers.
