China-made models double as smart home hubs, media players, nannies, teachers, dancers and singers.
The latest interactive robots from China support multiple functions ranging from smart home and entertainment to education and security.
Many robots now double as voice-enabled smart home controllers. They follow speech instructions for activating intelligent home appliances.
Other robots are designed to be companions, taking the role of a nanny or guardian. They remind children to study and limit gadget use, and care for their health. When touched, knocked or stroked gently, the robots react or talk to the owner. Certain models have an alarm for emergency situations.
These robots are also media players that entertain via videos or music. Some are good at dancing and singing.
A few models are designed as DIY kits that teach owners and kids about robotics, programming, coding and STEM. Makers are offering models with easy-to-assemble parts, user manuals, tutorial videos, and software open to third-party developers.
The products in this gallery represent trends in interactive robots.
