China's Li-polymer batteries for mobile and wearable devices come in rated capacity ranging from 15 to more than 6,000mAh. These come in cells and packs. By nominal voltage, there are 3.7 and 3.8V models in the first, and 7.4, 11.1 and 14.8V units in the latter.

Releases for mobile electronics are mainly in 40 to 600mAh and those for wearables in 40 to 600mAh. Batteries for wristbands have typical capacity of 40 to 150mAh and thickness of 2 to 3mm, while those for smart watches are usually from 200 to 600mAh and 4 to 5mm-thick.

In addition to LiCoCo₂, there are models that use ternary materials, primarily LiCoxNiyMnzO₂, for these applications. Graphite is usually adopted as anode material.

In general, mainland companies can customize batteries for wearable devices according to required nominal voltage and capacity, and shape and size.

Suppliers use local LiCoO₂ cathode inputs, mainly from Hunan Shanshan Toda, Hunan Reshine, Beijing Easpring and Ningbo Jinhe. Anode materials, electrolytes, and soft aluminum foil used as casing are obtained from domestic companies as well.

Separators come from local and foreign sources. The latter includes Asahi, Celgard and Tonen.

Prices are expected to increase in coming months due to the climbing cost of Li2CO₃, the key material in the production of LiCoO₂, and higher labor expenditure.

The adjustment in quotes, however, will be within 5 percent as manufacturers strive to remain competitive.
