How to guarantee quality [VIDEO]

Habib Rhka, quality manager from Asia Quality Focus, explains how importers can guarantee the quality of products sourced in China. He was speaking at the Global Sources Summit in Hong Kong.

His advice on clarifying product needs:

1. No space to free interpretation should be given

2. All product specifications should be clarified and communicated with your supplier – state clearly details such as functionality, dimensions, appearance, color and packaging

3. Include approval samples, color swatches, pictures

4. Amazon sellers should pay attention to additional requirements such as Amazon’s labeling, carton and palletization requirements

His tips on approval samples:

1. Request 2 samples for approval and test them all

2. Verify samples’ conformity to your customization requirements

3. Keep 1 approval sample and send the other one to your quality inspector

His suggestions on choosing your QC company:

1. Has AQSIQ license in China

2. Has ISO 9001 certification

3. Has product expertise in your product category

4. Has proper processes to control and review the service performed

5. Has online system to ensure clear and transparent communication

6. Could be mix of western and local employees to ensure a good understanding of western needs and local culture

7. Has clear and detailed sample report
