Companies in China are emphasizing compact EMI filters with higher insertion loss and frequency for greater-density circuits.
China suppliers are updating their selections of EMI filters to take advantage of the broad market in home appliances, and mobile and wearable electronics as these applications adopt integrated circuit technology. They are working to release more units with insertion loss surpassing 60dB and noise handling in up to 130MHz, and those in SMD configurations.
Makers such as Tong Yue Xin have introduced models with 60 to 90dB insertion loss, and more are expected to follow suit. In terms of frequency, types with 10kHz to 30MHz dominate the local lineup at present.
In general, typical EMI filters from China makers exhibit high reliability, meeting various international standards, including CE, CSA, UL and VDE.
With healthy market demand, the local category has sustained sales growth of 5 percent, a trend that will persist in the next 12 months. The upbeat outlook extends to export shipments, which are anticipated to rise at the same rate this year.
The products in this gallery have been handpicked by our China-based market analyst for representing current trends in EMI filters.

Shaanxi Shinhom Enterprise Co. Ltd offers the SF0503 Series of SMD EMI line filters that are based on a ferrite core and are for up to 1,000MHz applications such as data and signal lines. The units have 100A typical rated current, 450 to 1,400ohm minimum impedance, and 0.13 to 0.24ohm typical and 0.18 to 0.32ohm maximum DC resistance per winding.
The components use class F enameled copper wire, and has a UL94V-0-rated liquid crystal polymer base and terminals with copper, nickel or tin plating. Epoxy resin is adopted as adhesive. The operating and storage temperatures are -40 to 105 C and -40 to 125 C. At rated current, the maximum temperature rise is 25 C. The filters can withstand soldering at 260 C for 10 sec. They come in 500-unit tape and reel packaging. Bulk packaging for smaller quantities is accepted.

Model T4532-351 LAN chip transformer from Shaanxi Shinhom Enterprise Co. Ltd has 350µH typical inductance at 100kHz, 0.1V, 8mA DC bias and 35pF typical capacitance. Turns ratio is 1:1 at 100kHz.
The UL94V-0-rated unit has 11.5dB maximum insertion loss at 1 to 100MHz, while the minimum return loss is -18dB at 1 to 40MHz, 14dB at 50MHz, -12.5dB at 60MHz, -11.2dB at 70MHz, -10dB at 80MHz and -8dB at 100MHz. It operates in -0 to 70 C and stores in -40 to 85 C. Solderability of leads meets MIL-STD-202.
