In mainstream supply are transformers categorized by rated power. There are micro-, low-, medium- and high-power kinds, respectively with less than 25VA, between 25VA and 0.5kVA, 0.5kVA to 10kVA and more than 10kVA. They come in variants with 50/60Hz or more than 20kHz frequency.
