Global Sources celebrates 10 successful years of its Fashion show

Asia's largest one-stop sourcing event for fashion apparel and accessories opens with 1,700 booths to mark its 10th anniversary.

Asia's largest one-stop sourcing event, Global Sources Fashion, marks a decade of connecting buyers with reliable suppliers with an even wider collection of fashion apparel and accessories, and unique side events that highlight the latest trends and innovation in the world of fashion. Divided into four categories, namely Fashion Accessories & Footwear, Fashion Apparel & Fabrics, Bags & Luggage and Underwear & Swimwear, the trade show opened yesterday at the AsiaWorld-Expo in Hong Kong and will run until Oct.29.

This year's edition features more than 1,700 booths filled with chic clothing, bags, fashion jewelry, undergarments, beachwear, scarves, shoes and fabrics from leading and emerging suppliers from the Greater China region and neighboring Asia hubs. About 500 of the exhibitors accept small orders while 400 are promoting their own designs and brands.

In a statement, Global Sources Fashion Group president Livia Yip emphasized the significance of the event in today's fashion industry: "This year marks the 10th anniversary of Global Sources Fashion show. It has become the largest sourcing event in the region. Our show has helped tens of thousands of global buyers to source quality fashion products from China and Asia. This fall, we have expanded the bags and luggage pavilion, introducing 15,000 fashion and casual bags, luggage and backpacks, which is the largest collection ever in Hong Kong."

Technology plays a vital role in the development of the fashion industry and this is highlighted in the Fashion Tech Zone, which showcases the latest smart bags and footwear.

Also among the must-sees, the Young Designer's Corner provides a platform for the best talents from Asia's leading design institutes to parade their unique creations while at the Rising Designer's Corner emerging designers have the opportunity to introduce their creations to the market.

Attendees can watch these creations, along with innovative products from exhibitors' booths handpicked by Global Sources representatives, take the catwalk at the Fashion Parades.

Guests can also keep abreast of the upcoming trends in fashion apparel and accessories at the TrendsForum, which are presented in cooperation with Fashion Snoops and Pantone.

At the New Markets Pavilion, visitors are treated to an array of fashion items from emerging markets such as India, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, Indonesia and the Philippines. This is done in partnership with the Hinrich Foundation.

Global Sources Fashion likewise offers value-added services to enhance the supplier and buyer experience. These include a series of seminars where industry experts share insights and practical tips on different topics such as Smart China Sourcing, Visionary Intelligence and e-Fashion Source2Sell. There will also be a conference track for online and Amazon sellers.

Buyers can also download the Global Sources Buyer App that allows them manage their stay efficiently by allowing them to locate exhibitors, create exhibitor profiles, and take notes and product pictures. Users can also communicate with exhibitors using the app. Similarly, exhibitors can obtain buyer information and sourcing history, and provide quotations directly using the Global Sources Supplier App.

Selected buyers are also provided fully-equipped offices.
