Global Sources top 20 electronics (September 2013): Accessories shopping in high gear

Various auxiliary products took center stage in September with volume electronics importers training their late-summer sourcing eyes on hot holiday gift ideas.

In-car chargers entered GlobalSources.com's list of top 20 electronics, computer and telecom products last month as inquiries climbed 13 percent from August 2013 and 187 percent YoY. The line has been gaining popularity as the increasingly mobile populace, not fully content with the additional “juice” they get out of power banks, look for ways to recharge their devices even on the go.

Portable speakers is another top 20 first-timer. It joined the list thanks to 289 percent more inquiries from August.

Meanwhile, accessories for the iPhone, recovered from a slow August. Cases for the new iPhone 5S and 5C contributed to the 22 percent jump in inquiries for this segment.
