Global Sources top 20 home products (September 2013): Bedding sets comfortable at #1

Reversing a slide in August, bedding sets overtook disposable cups to secure position number 1 in GlobalSources.com's top 20 home products for September. Buyer inquiries in the line, which is characterized by the heavy use of cotton in recent releases, rose 148 percent from August and more than 400 percent YoY.

The September top 20 also saw several breakout categories, including bathroom cabinets with its 1,386 percent month-on-month growth spurt.

Fancier shapes and colors, and safer materials are spurring buyer interest in cake molds. In September, the line registered 260 percent more inquiries. The YoY increase is far more impressive at close to 7,000 percent.

Four other first-timers posted three-digit growth rates on month. Of the four, ceramic knives had the highest growth percentage at 200 percent, followed by cook's tool sets at 178 percent.
