Stockholm, Sweden-based H&M announced that it would be launching its beauty collection this Fall 2015. According to reports, the 700-piece line, which would eventually expand to 1,000, includes lipsticks, nail polish and even beauty tools.
The line features two collections: Premium and Conscious. The latter is Ecocert-approved, and free from dyes, synthetic fragrances and GMO ingredients. This range also makes use of sustainable manufacturing processes and recycled materials for a reduced impact on the environment. According to the Swedish brand's concept designer, prices would be comparable to those of drugstores and other retailer brands.
Venturing into beauty products is a good move for the retailer, as beauty junkies do not have to visit the makeup counter elsewhere when the bronzer they need is just a few steps away from the latest fashion steal.
