Handheld scanner-translator

Model X5 pro-4 from Shenzhen Aoolif Technology Co. Ltd is a handheld scanner with offline language translation capability of Chinese and English via built-in dictionaries. It also features online voice translation of up to 112 languages, online text scanning translation up to 55 languages, online intelligent recording and text translation in 112 languages and photo translation in 55 languages. The unit also has MP3 and AI assistant capabilities and is Bluetooth-enabled.

The X5 pro-4 has a 4in touch screen with 340x800p resolution that is covered by 2.5D glass. The unit has 8GB storage and supports TransFlash cards.  It has a built-in battery with 1,500mAh capacity and a USB-C charging port.

Unit dimensions are 160x50x40mm and weight is 216g. The minimum order quantity for this model is 200 units and lead time is seven to 30 days.

Analyst’s comment:

Handheld units accounted for 80 percent of language translation devices in 2021.  A study by Global Market Insights (GMI) states that innovations by manufacturers, such as experiments in form factor to make translators smaller and more portable, will be a prime factor for increasing demand for these devices up to the end of the decade. GMI forecasts the language translation devices market to rise at 10 percent CAGR from 2022 to 2030, from its value of $990 million in 2021.  Key drivers include rising purchasing power in key markets and more tourism, including those for medical purposes.
