Germany-based jeans brand Mustang bolstered its "green" collection with the launch of its "True Denim for a better world" program.
After collaborating with Italy denim manufacturer Candiani last January for its Sustainable Capsule collection, Mustang unveils a range of jeans that provides the end-users information on how much water and energy is consumed, and the amount of wastes generated in the garment's production.
Mustang's long-time partner MIC from Tunisia will provide the rating system, which is based on Jeanologia's environmental impact measuring system or EIM. This will reveal the amount of water and electricity, and types of chemicals used, and the length of time spent in the manufacture of the jeans.
Currently, Mustang has 11 styles for women and 17 for men that will hit the stores January next year. Prices range from 89.95 to 99.95 euros. All jeans from MIC will come with a hangtag detailing the products EIM information.
