Manufacturers of tea bags seek to give tea lovers a new and interesting way to enjoy their favorite beverages by releasing models that come in creative and fun designs.
Daisho Fishery Co., for instance, has started a fundraising campaign on Japan-based Makuake for its Ocean Teabag line, notable for its great white shark model that is currently doing rounds online.
This particular tea bag, as the name states, comes in the form of a great white shark with its string attached to a cardboard scuba diver. Stuffed with a blend of rose hip and hibiscus, the bag 'bleeds' red tea when soaked in hot water.
Daisho also offers more innocuous models with dolphin and whale versions that trickles tea in light green, yellow, violet, blue and pink.
Another manufacturer of quirky tea bags is Taipei-based Charmvilla, which is also known for underwater designs such as its goldfish model that swells when dunked into the water. Flavors available are those local to Taiwan, including black and oolong.
Other interesting designs include a teabag with a flower-shaped tag that slowly blooms and opens its petals while steeping and a teabag that can be shared by two.
Tea bags are not the only things that are being modified. Latest infusers are also notable for their clever and practical designs. One example is a silicone man resting in a hot tub.
The global tea market is expected to have a compounded annual growth rate of 4.6 percent throughout 2020.
