Adult-inspired pieces, fauna prints and lace designs bannered the spring 2016 collection at the 81st edition of Pitti Bimbo, the world's largest children's wear trade fair held last June 25 to 27 in Florence, Italy.

Mini Me looks were among the highlights of Manila Grace, which paraded kid's apparel similar to its women's wear collection. It also introduced baggy trousers, veering away from the straight leg skinny jeans that have a been a staple for the past seasons. Lamantine Paris, on the other hand, released an adult line that matched its children's selection.

Animal designs were once again prevalent, with colorful butterflies, birds and cats seen in many garments.

Lace was another dominant theme, especially for girls' clothing. Many lace knitwear in the trade show feature embroidered designs. Such designs from Simonetta's collection come in sorbet rainbow shades.

Athleisure apparel, which is gaining popularity in adult wear, has also branched out to children's clothing. Athletic track pants and curved-side shorts were among the releases at the fair that highlighted this trend.
