ProductIP reported recently that hazardous substances have been added to the RoHS banned list via Directive (EU) 2015/863. The new restriction will be enforced July 22, 2019.

The Directive amended specifically Annex II, identifying DEHP, BBP, DBP and DIBP as impacting negatively recycling, human health and the environment when used in electrical and electronic equipment such as cables and spare parts.

ProductIP said the BBP, DBP and DEHP restrictions do not cover electrical and electronic toys as these are already restricted under entry 51 of Annex XVII to the REACH regulation.
