The building products distributor makes another acquisition to speed up growth.

Illinois-based building products distributor Parksite announced that it has bought Lavelle Co., a building materials wholesaler based in North Dakota. The acquisition is effective immediately, though the terms of the deal were not released. This is fifth time the company has purchased another distributor or wholesaler since year 2000.

According to Parksite president Ron Heitzman, the company aims to grow faster than the market, with acquisitions as a key to its growth strategy. The move is said to expand Parksite’s geography and product portfolio. Among the current building products it provides for the remodeling, residential and commercial segments are DuPont Corian and Zodiaq, and Natural Stone (Granite).

Parksite, established in 1915, markets branded and specialty building products in nine locations throughout the eastern US while Lavelle has been providing services to retail lumberyards since 1939.
