Makers offer an array of products and one-stop solutions for key terminal devices.

Mainland China PCB assembly companies adopt single-, double-sided, multilayer, flexible, rigid-flex, HDI and IC substrate PCBs. More than 70 percent of the line is based on the first three, with the third accounting for the bulk, while a growing number use HDI boards. The last subcategory is forecast to reach nearly 20 percent of output by 2018, driven by the smartphone and tablet PC markets.

Local makers accept low-volume, high-mix orders and provide one-stop solutions for value addition.

Global Circuit (Shenzhen) Co. Ltd offers production, component sourcing, assembly, testing, packing and logistics, and Fullwill Technology Co. Ltd PCB design, layout and assembly, and contract manufacturing and testing.

The key materials used include PCBs, electronic components, soldering wire, paste and adhesives. Most are obtained locally. The first input can be sourced from foreign providers from Taiwan and Japan on request.

Suppliers such as Shenzhen Baoli Electronics Co. Ltd make PCBs in-house. The company turns out double-sided, up to 22-layer and aluminum-base units. Global Circuit produces multilayer and flexible boards respectively with a maximum 22 and six tiers, HDI and aluminum variants.

The 126x162x1.6mm unit incorporates components as small as 0201, and supports as tight as 0.4mm QFP and 0.3mm IC pitches. In terms of BGA, the maximum size is 74x74mm, with the minimum ball diameter and pitch of 0.4mm and 1mm.

SMT and DIP are the placement techniques used.
