Home appliances are being continuously upgraded to adopt smarter and high-tech technology, and air purifiers are no exception. A growing number of models are app-enabled and come with compact bodies that require little to no maintenance. One example is the Ventifresh, a NASA-inspired odor eliminator that was successfully crowdfunded on Indiegogo, achieving more than double its target goal.

The Ventifresh odor eliminator is said to be 10x more effective than baking soda, incorporating UV photocatalyst technology to remove bad odors in small spaces such as shoe closets, trash cans, gym lockers, diaper bags and refrigerators. By using this space technology that yields natural titanium dioxide, no harmful chemicals are used or released.

The plug-and-play odor eliminator is powered by a USB adaptor or via a power bank. Light sensors control the power on and off button. Unlike most purifiers, this one is maintenance-free, not requiring any filter replacements, and energy-efficient, consuming a maximum of 3W per hour.

The Ventifresh is also distinguishable by its compact design, having a pocket-sized body that measures two inches and weighs 70g. A magnet enables the device to stick to metal lids.
