RC toys are usually associated with children, but there are versions just perfect for adults.

One example of the grown-up RC toy is the Abrams Tank from Illinois-based catalog retailer Hammacher Schlemmer.

Realistic and authentic-looking, the tank mimics the details of the US Military's M1A2 Abrams at a 1:16 scale. A 2.4 GHz digital remote control provides forward, backward, horizontal and 360-degree turns. A caveat, though: The remote control is quite hefty, requiring six AA batteries to run.

The two machine guns can fire with recoil, and plastic pellets can be shot in rapid succession up to 20 feet away. Twin headlights provide illumination, while rubber treads give individual suspension and with desert weathering.

The tank has a lifetime warranty and comes with 15 pellets. It weighs about 4.5 pounds and retails at $259.95.
