Anticipating market uptake for Cat 7 and Cat 8 cables, these makers will position their connectors accordingly, with others already offering them. China's mainstream selection of RJ-45 connectors
China is the largest production base for RJ-45 connectors, accounting for more than 30 percent of global shipments, according to the YuBoZhiYe Industry Research Institute.
Widely made are male and female connectors with an 8P8C pin layout and in shielded and unshielded variants. They usually have a maximum contact resistance of 2.5mohms, minimum insulation resistance of 1,000Mohms, dielectric strength of 1,000VDC or 700VAC and life span of over 750 mating and unmating cycles. Manufacturers remain open to customization and ensure their products are UL-listed, CE-marked and RoHS-compliant. They usually source bronze, copper, nickel, gold and PC from domestic providers.
