Samsung's 360-degree cylindrical wireless multiroom speakers can interface with other audio systems.

Last year, Samsung released its egg-shaped standalone wireless speakers. One of the most interesting aspects of the speakers other than their shape was that they could be used in concert with existing sound bars and other audio systems. For example, the standalone speakers could also be placed as rear wireless speakers for a TV AV system.
This year, Samsung has gone to a different form factor and has amped up the output. The new Wireless Audio 360 speakers have many of the same features as the previous egg-shaped versions, but have included a more pleasing appearance befitting a high-end speaker set. The speakers can be controlled by an app on Android or iOS devices, as well as a touch sensor interface on the device itself. In addition, the app can control all linked systems such as Samsung sound bars.
The new device is clearly an attempt to challenge Sonos in the high-end speakers market. Pricing is roughly the same: $199 to $399, depending on the model. Unlike the Sonos speakers, the design and function of Samsung's new models are intended to provide 360-degree sound, allowing the speakers to be placed anywhere in a room.
