Recent years have seen the increasing adoption of silicon carbide (SiC) and gallium nitride (GaN) technologies as better alternatives to traditional silicon in power electronics, including switching power supplies. Chinese manufacturers continue to use customization to attract more orders, especially as such products account for at least 30 to as much as 60 percent of their shipments. This type of service extends to the preferred sources of parts, including MOSFETs, transformers and other passive components, discrete devices, PCBs and even cases.
Due to competition, the prices of China-made switching power supplies are expected to keep going down until 2026.
Based on an earlier projection, the Chinese market will reach $48.19 billion in 2026, according to ChinaIRN. Between 2021 and 2024, it posted a CAGR of 17.8 percent from $25.27 billion to $41.38 billion.
