St. Louis couple devised a smart breast pump that is controllable via mobile app, and is designed to be used in public.

A couple from St. Louis, Missouri has revamped the ordinary breast pump and made it smarter and more relevant for the modern mom.
The Babyation pump's settings, including speed and suction intensity, are adjusted via a mobile app. Users can also save their preferred settings or activate the timer, which enables the breast pump to run automatically at a preset time. Sensors on the collection bottles monitor how much milk has been pumped, the length and time of the pumping session, and which breast the milk was collected from.
Unlike regular breast pumps, the Babyation is composed of breast guards connected to tubes instead of flanges, which would remain hidden underneath the mother's underwear and clothes, allowing her to pump milk in public places such as the office. Currently the tubes are disposable, but the makers are developing ways to use more environment-friendly options and cleaning supplies.
The smart breast pump also remains quiet, which is another factor that allows the product to be used in open spaces.
Babyation was first launched on Kickstarter, which had a target of $50,000. It has now surpassed this figure, earning more than $80,000. The breast pump is planned to be offered at $584.
