Mobile phones have provided a lot of conveniences for users, particularly in the area of time telling. As clocks that display both time and date are a staple in any electronic device, many people have done away with watches and desk or wall clocks, preferring to simply look at their screens when necessary.

In an effort to help people disconnect from their devices, a Chicago-based company designed the Ingrein clock.

Dubbed as the world's first luxury wood smart clock, Ingrein is made of reclaimed cedar or mahogany and comes in four stains, which are textured oak, rustic white, natural mahogany and ombré. It can be mounted on walls or used as a desk clock with an accompanying easel backing.

Ingrein is an analog clock that is equipped with an LCD at its bottom part where information such as temperature, weather forecast and other notifications are displayed.

Integrated with IFTTT technology and supporting more than 200 apps, users can choose the apps from which they will receive alerts. The owner is notified by light and a soft "cuckoo" sound. Light colors are customizable.

Ingrein is also equipped with a motion sensor that sends the owner a notification on his electronic gadgets when it senses an intruder.
