Smart indoor garden system is modular

Indoor gardening is a growing trend now that there are more technologies making it easier. People looking to add few or many plants inside their homes are going with compact self-watering planters or big indoor growing boxes that are still easy to manage. For those wanting more plants but don’t like large kits eating up space, there are already product designers that are coming up with smart modular planters.

The solution from Barcelona-based design agency Lucid, the Citysens, is a self-watering vertical garden that features 90-degree adjustable plant holders that clip or stack on top of each other. The product also adopts a hydroponic system, irrigating plants up to a month without having to be monitored by the owner. Plant information can be checked on Citysens’ compatible smartphone app.

Besides control via a mobile phone, the system can be turned on or off through its circular base’s switch that looks like a sprout. The space-saving and chic design of the system makes it suitable for small living areas, including apartments and other urban spaces.
