Home appliance manufacturer Jenn-Air announced at the Architectural Digest Home Design Show in New York that it has partnered with Nest to make their connected wall oven compatible with the Google-owned company's interface.

Those who will install Jenn-Air's connected oven will be given access to the company's mobile app, which is available for iOS and Android devices. Through this app, users can enter the Jenn-Air Culinary Center, an interactive and image-driven system that allows them to stay connected with the appliance from their mobile phones and via Wi-Fi.

Using the Nest technology, owners of Jenn-Air's smart oven can adjust the power settings and cooking modes of the appliance from a remote distance. Customers do not have to deal with the uncertainty if they forgot to turn off the oven before leaving the house. Preheating and adjusting temperature is also done at the press of a button.

The connected wall oven can now provide a color image of the dish being prepared, and even visual indicators that show how and where to insert the thermometer. Up to three cooking modes can be utilized. Favorite recipes can be saved as well.

It is expected that the Nest integration will include notifications and energy-saving features that homeowners can opt to use.
