San Francisco-based inventors and engineers have recently created Qube, a Wi-Fi smart LED bulb that already reached 540 percent of its fundraising campaign in December 2015.

The Qube does not use a separate central hub for it is already a hub in itself. It connects with other Qube lightbulbs, mobile phones, and Bluetooth-enabled wearables. Among the notable features of the product is that it can track one’s location via smartphones or wearables like Fitbit and Jawbone, and find lost items.

In addition, Qube Security and Sense technologies can simulate presence of an individual in a room and customize lighting conditions as someone enters. Qube Notifications alert users via lights when a call or text message comes in.

Qube Moods, meanwhile, lets users choose from 16 million hues that change ambiance for special occasions. For those who prefer to come home to a well-lit house, Qube Remote can turn on the lights even when one is outside the home. The bulb can track usage and dim or turn off lights when not in use. Lastly, Qube Schedules feature makes the bulb sync with a phone alarm by gradually lighting up or mimicking the sun’s rays.

The smart LED bulb was billed as the “world’s most affordable smart light bulb.” It is priced at just $19, making it a low-cost alternative for most smart bulbs in the market.
