Fashion jewerly displayed at the runways of the successfully staged Fashion Week is all about making a statement. From the adoption of upcycled materials to eye-catching and lavishly trimmed pieces, the catwalks in New York, London, Milan and Paris showcased a jewelry collection that drew inspiration from the unconventional, free-spirited and even a revival of the classics.
Below are some of the top jewelry trends spotted at the Fashion Week that are expected to flourish come fall and winter 2017-18.

Several designers breathed new life into everyday objects such as shells, cans, porcelain, glass and other objects. This shell-trimmed double-layer necklace from Prada turned heads at the fashion show.

Adorned with white crystals, chandelier earrings illuminated the runways. These drop earrings are taken from Isabel Marant's collection.

Punk-influenced pieces also rocked at the Fashion Week as nails, studs, piercings and barbed wire lent a rock star vibe to earrings, chokers and even nose rings. Junya Watanabe's designs were pretty hardcore.

Many designers incorporated a fresh twist to bracelets by unveiling lavishly trimmed pieces that trace the femininity of a woman's hand. This chain- and rhinestone-embellished bracelet from Victor Virgile is an example.

Keys were among the surprising accents of the season as seen in earrings, bracelets and necklaces. This scarf bracelet from Balenciaga is among the Fashion Week's head-turners.

Several pieces sowed the seeds of mystery and intrigue. This statement necklace from Chanel, for instance, features cosmic symbols.
