Pajama dressing is a recurring trend that’s showing no signs of slowing down. It’s not just popular among fashion professionals, celebrities and influencers, but the trend is also being embraced by consumers who value comfort and personal care. Since the onset of the pandemic, people have been staying at home for the most part and comfort has been a major concern in their clothing choices. This has spurred the demand for pajamas, especially among female shoppers. In the US, sales of pajamas online surged by 143 percent in the early months of the pandemic, according to Adobe Analytics. Among clothing categories, pajamas had the fastest growth.
The sleepwear market is anticipated to reach $18,694.8 million by 2027, growing at CAGR of 9.7 percent, according to Allied Market Research. Of this growth, the online segment has the highest share and is expected to reach $4,782.3 million by 2027. Consumers are now more open to buying things online and are confident in flaunting their innerwear as casual sleepwear, driving the growth of the sleepwear market. By end user, the women’s pajamas segment has been a prominent category for years and is set to continue dominating the market as more women are choosing nightwear that is comfortable and attractive.
The women’s pajamas offered by manufacturers from China come in sets or are sold per piece. Popular choices under the sleepwear category include lounge pants, pajama pants, shorts set, tank tops and sleep shirts made of cotton, bamboo fabric, French terry, silky satin, silk, velvet and polyester.
