Makers are growing the line to take advantage of a widening application base in the consumer electronics, medical, energy, industrial and vehicle sectors.

China suppliers offer supercapacitors with rated capacitance ranging from 0.1 to 10,000F to suit various applications.

According to the electrolytes adopted, there are organic and inorganic series. The former comes with a rated voltage of 2.5 or 2.7V, and inorganic counterparts usually 1.5V. Organic units boast greater energy density as these operate at a higher voltage. They lead supply.

A further classification is by construction, and covers coin-shaped, winding and modular varieties. The first utilizes lamination manufacturing method, and comes mainly with 0.1 to 4F and 5.5V rated capacitance and voltage.

The TMCS01-20FZ2.7VB supercapacitor from Shenzhen Topmay Electronic Co. Ltd has 20F capacitance and -20 to 80 percent tolerance.

The 2.7V model with 1,000C maximum discharging current features low ESR. Its life span exceeds 100,000 cycles. The 16x26mm unit is RoHS-compliant.
