Tech-packed season ender at Global Sources Mobile Electronics show

Global Sources Mobile Electronics show concludes its October 18 to 21 run with yet another tech-packed presentation of the latest in mobile devices, AR/VR, wearables and accessories at the AsiaWorld-Expo. In addition to the exhibits in 2,700 booths organized by category to facilitate sourcing, there were special pavilions for on-site product launches and demonstrations.

The Analyst’s Choice Zone gathered the most up-to-date innovations in voice-controlled speakers, bezel-less smartphones, VR, sports technology, wireless earbuds, intelligent interaction, and mobile protective and power solutions. Visitors got a first-hand introduction to a number of products that will be in the market soon, and were able to sample devices in dedicated experience setups.

The early attention grabbers included an underwater-charging power bank, smart selfie stick with face recognition, cube printer that prints stick-on notes, smart umbrella that predicts weather, projector smartphone with fingerprint, face recognition, quick-setup wireless VR kit, Bluetooth earbuds that turn on and shut off automatically, 64-microphone 4K VR camera, graphene-enhanced true wireless earbuds and so much more.

Asia’s largest mobile AR/VR pavilion returned with over 170 booths, showcasing the latest AR/VR headsets, VR backpacks, smart glasses and more, while the VR Experience Zone powered by HTC Vive opened the door to visitors raring to preview new adventures in emulated reality.

Microsoft joined the show for the first time to present its current and emerging technologies, while consumer electronics startups congregated – Asia’s largest gathering - at the Startup Launchpad to introduce shelf-ready innovations.

Rounding out the show were the series of conferences tackling innovations, tech disruptions, wearables, IoT,smart sourcing and manufacturing and online retail, and the 3rd VR/AR/MR Ecosystem Summit that brought together the industry’s key movers.
