Hasbro, Mattel and Lego are among the top toy brands releasing action figures, building sets and miniatures based on the seventh installment in the Star Wars movie series.

Toys based on movies have always been popular Christmas gifts, but with all the hype surrounding Episode VII, Star Wars: The Force Awakens memorabilia will be extra-hot this year.

Here are some of the Episode VII toy must-haves from top brands for the holidays:

1. First Order Stormtrooper: Hasbro will be releasing this 6in action figure, its first toy for Star Wars: The Force Awakens, at the San Diego Comic-Con this July 9 to 12.

2. Hot Wheels Stormtrooper car: Mattel's latest Star Wars-themed miniature vehicle is die-cast and follows the First Order redesign.

3. Buildable First Order Stormtrooper: Lego will be displaying its Buildable First Order Stormtrooper at the SDCC but fans will have to wait until Jan. 1, 2016 for its mass-market release. The product consists of 81 pieces that form a 9in figure with posable limbs.

Word has it that Lego is also making seven Star Wars: The Force Awakens sets. Check out the names, prices and other details here.
