Three-digit growth rate in buyer inquires paved the way for sports caps' auspicious return in October 2014 to GlobalSources.com's top 20 garments and fashion accessories, leading four newcomers in the list.
The category registered an almost 240 percent rise in on-month requests for information and a two-fold increase YoY, ending its three-month hiatus from the rankings. Sports caps, which last held the 12th position in the June 2014 listing, is the only new entrant in the upper half of the standings. Many of the latest releases adopt breathable, quick-drying and moisture-wicking materials. Logos and other details are often embroidered.
A pair of textile categories also secured spots in the top 20. Cotton fabrics and lace fabrics ranked 12th and 15th, respectively. Monthly buyer inquiries for the latter jumped 44 percent while annual numbers posted more than 250 percent gain. RFIs for cotton fabrics, meanwhile, rose 42 percent, although YoY figures dropped slightly by 10 percent.
First-timer women's round-neck T-shirts rounded out the list, with a 37 and 43 percent increase in on-month and yearly requests for information.
